Monthly plans also carry a 7-day free trial. Three months at $35 is $105, versus $177 at the standard monthly rate. It does not beat the annual plan on a full year: $105 for three promotional months plus nine months at $59 comes to $636, against $399 for Coursera Plus Annual. The promotion is worth taking only if you expect to finish inside three or four months. After 23 September 2026 this offer has expired and the standard $59/month applies. Refunds, cancellation, and the free trial
Coursera Plus Annual carries a 14-day refund window from the date of payment. A refund is requested from the My Purchases page inside those 14 days, and Coursera states that processing takes a further 7-10 business days to appear on the original payment method. This is the safety net that makes the $399 annual commitment less risky than it looks: two weeks is enough to open the specific courses you bought Coursera Plus for and confirm they are actually included.
Any certificate earned during those first 14 days is revoked if the refund is taken. This matters more than it sounds, because Coursera Plus is frequently bought to complete one short certificate quickly. Finishing a certificate inside two weeks and then requesting a refund does not work as a strategy: the credential is withdrawn along with the money. Coursera also states that refunds are not available where a learner has already accessed, unlocked, or otherwise obtained value from premium content.
Monthly Coursera Plus includes a 7-day free trial, and cancelling inside the trial window carries no charge at all. Payment details are collected when the trial starts, so the subscription converts automatically unless it is cancelled. The trial is the cheaper way to test the catalogue: it costs nothing, whereas the annual refund route requires paying $399 up front and then reclaiming it.
Cancelling a Coursera subscription stops future billing but does not refund the current period, and access continues until the paid period ends.
